Gibraltar Tourist Board
The Gibraltar Tourist Board (GTB) looks after and manages many facets of the tourism experience in Gibraltar. All tourist sites, amenities and attractions come under the scope of the Gibraltar Tourist Board which is one of the largest and most dynamic administrative departments of the Gibraltar Government.
On arrival at any of Gibraltar’s entry points, whether by land, sea or air, tourists are greeted by members of the smartly attired Information Officer teams who will welcome visitors and answer any questions they may have about the Rock’s past or present.
Information points are located at the Gibraltar Cruise Terminal, the Gibraltar Coach Terminus, the Gibraltar International Airport, the frontier and at Europa Point.
The main information office is located at Casemates Square within walking distance of the bustling city centre, where newcomers to Gibraltar will be able to obtain complete information and advice about Gibraltar, ensuring a productive and enjoyable stay.
The Gibraltar Tourist Board also looks after the operations of the very busy Gibraltar Cruise Terminal in the port area, and the equally industrious Gibraltar Coach Terminus where many visitors arrive on ships and on coaches, ensuring a speedy transition from their arrival points to the centres of interest across the Rock’s geography.
The Upper Rock and Beaches sections of the Gibraltar Tourist Board are responsible for looking after most of the visitor attractions located within the Nature Reserve on the Upper Rock, along with the 100 Ton Gun exhibition at the Napier of Magdala Battery.
These teams also look after the enhanced facilities provided at the beaches in Gibraltar during the summer months, which in recent times has seen numerous accessibility ramps and other disability features incorporated to allow bathers with mobility difficulties to be able to access the shoreline.
The Gibraltar Tourist Board also has a Marketing Department which is hard at work selling Gibraltar to visitors, constantly promoting the Rock as a unique tourist destination both for day trippers and long stay visitors. The Gibraltar Tourist Board also vigorously publicises the many sites of historical and architectural interest, the Rock’s nightlife and gastronomy, flora and heritage features, and shopping opportunities that make a visit to Gibraltar such an unforgettable experience. There is also a team of accounting and administration staff involved in the day to day running of the organisation.
